The New Approval Body for Paediatric First Aid Training

How will the PFAA maintain standards?

Members will be asked to complete a quality assurance portfolio, set minimum qualifications/experience for trainers, supply lesson plans and samples of support materials.
This will be conducted in a very similar manner to the previous NCMA approval scheme.
We will also monitor a random sample of training courses.

What about the First Aid at Work Council?

Chris, Peter and Nigel are currently board members of the FWC. The FWC is recognised by the HSE as the fully representative First Aid at Work Industry lead body. Because the FWC is in its formative stages, no decisions have been taken as yet regarding Paediatric First Aid Training.
The PFAA will seek to work with the FWC very closely in all matters regarding paediatric first
aid.

How can the PFAA increase the credibility of your courses?

The PFAA will seek to maximise publicity of our quality standards with stakeholders in the paediatric first aid training industry. These include the NCMA, the PLA , the early years departments of local authorities, Ofsted and other relevant government agencies. We will endeavour to champion the importance of high standards and regulation within the industry, ensuring that stakeholders recognise the PFAA logo as a banner of quality.
